The motorsport world is in mourning after the death of SuperUte Series driver Craig Jenner. Jenner, a 55-year-old father of three, lost his 10-year battle with bowel cancer. After Jenner died, V8 SuperUte Series put out a statement on Facebook. “It is with a heavy heart that we pay tribute to our dear friend and fellow racer Craig Jenner who sadly passed away today,” it said.
He last raced in the season-opener of 2023. In an interview in 2021 with The Senior, he revealed his father also had bowel cancer but said he did not think that created extra risk for him. ““Bowel cancer is a silent killer. Put yourself first. Get checked,” he told The Senior. The V8 SuperUte Series had already made a touching tribute for Jenner, naming the Rookie of the Year trophy after him. Category Manager, Luke Sieders said that trophy was a perfect to celebrate a “great man”.
