Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has been in a dispute with the Department of Public Expenditure over the need for increased funding in the health service. Donnelly pointed out that bed numbers, consultant staffing, and funding had all increased significantly, while the hospital's activity had only increased by a small percentage.
