Nathan Buckley has been forced to sell important memorabilia from his football career — including multiple match-worn grand final guernseys — three years on from his divorce. The Collingwood legend’s 18-year marriage to Tania came to end late in 2020, a year where he had spent much of the COVID-affected season interstate. The separation has now led to Buckley putting more than 200 pieces up for auction.
Brisbane Bears, Williamstown VFL and International Rules gear also feature among the many Collingwood items. The collection up for auction extends beyond football, with Buckley even selling off a custom-made jersey made “by a group of friends to try to get Buckley to play on their indoor soccer team”. Remarkably, it has already received one bid at $40.
