Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow says the state will intensify its search for investments this year. With him is executive councillor Abdul Halim Hussain.
To rejuvenate and promote investments, Chow announced the formation of the Penang Strategic Investment Advisory Council, which comprises captains of industry and government members. The industry members are Globetronics Technology Bhd CEO Heng Huck Lee, Texchem Life Sciences’s Yuma Konishi, Boston Scientific’s Dave Mitchell, Plexus Manufacturing’s Lim Jong Yin and Citigroup Transaction Services’ Srinath Sambasivan.
Chow said data from the Malaysian Investment Development Authority showed total investment last year was RM5.8 billion, compared with RM10.8 billion in 2017.
Investors should go to kedah and Kelantan. Penang is dead trap for investors. The population lacks diversity and economy is monopolized by one race. It's unhealthy.
Penang ( not just the island) should collaborate with Kedah (especially Kulim) to establish the Northern Powerhouse which is bigger and better than Selangor and Johor. Lets start with Kulim International Airport.
Waa... the malaysian finance minister said penang the best state what. 🤣
Investors moving to Kulim la. Can't afford to give prosperity to racists people who will chase everybody else out once in power. Same thing will happen in Kulim if people back there don't keep'em in check.
