A woman and a child are in a critical condition after the car they were in crashed into a parked truck in Western Sydney. The crash happened on Christie St in St Marys about 3.15am on Friday. Emergency crews worked to free the woman and an eight-year-old child who were trapped inside the car. The boy was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition.
The woman, believed to be in her 20s, was also treated at the scene and then taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition. “Police have established a crime scene and are investigating the cause of the crash,” police said. Business owner Frank Jenneo said he always feared a major crash would happen if trucks weren’t banned from parking in the area overnight.
