US President Donald Trump says he is ready to cause 'negative impacts on the economy' by closing the US border, stating that 'security is more important'. \n

Ms Nielsen, 46, was tasked with implementing some of Mr Trump’s flagship immigration policies, including the controversial wall across the US-Mexico border following her appointment in December 2017. The 46-year-old had been under increasing pressure after the US President declared the border issue a “national emergency” in February. Before the resignation, Mr Trump visited the illegal crossing on Friday and ramped-up pressure on congress to back his plans.
