A 16-year-old boy has been fatally shot by police outside Bunnings at Willetton after he stabbed a member of the public with a kitchen knife on Saturday night. It is understood the boy had been radicalised online, WA Premier Roger Cook said at a press conference on Sunday. “The teen made a triple-0 call at 10.10pm and said he was ‘going to commit acts of violence,” WA Police said. “He didn’t provide his name, or a location, and the phone call was then terminated.
” Police then received a second call from someone at the scene shortly after, where they arrived to find a man in his 30s with stab wounds. The teen rushed at responding police officers, one of whom discharged his firearm, killing the boy, Cook confirmed. 7NEWS understands that the boy had been part of an online support network focussing on radicalisation, and Cook said members of his own community had flagged his behaviour to authorities.
