A fan has suffered a “catastrophic spinal cord injury” when the lead singer of Aussie rock band Trophy Eyes stage-dived during a show in Buffalo, New York last week. Bird Piche, 24, suffered the major injury in the mosh pit on April 30, when frontman John Floreani reportedly leapt into the audience to crowd surf, knocking Piche to the ground.

Bird’s family and friends have now set-up a GoFundMe page, in order to cover their medical costs, which has raised about $US40,000 . The band has donated $US5000.
