To say Logan Morris had a whirlwind of a day on Sunday would be to criminally underplay just how chaotic it was. The Brisbane Lions draftee thought it would just be a normal day playing at 12.05pm in the VFL against Gold Coast.

Brisbane debutant’s unorthodox preparation for first game. He had 13 touches and kicked a goal in what was just his sixth game of footy at the level below AFL. Having devoured some McDonald’s and a bowl of soup after his game, he had his feet up ready to watch the seniors take on the Suns in the last game of the AFL round. That was until Brandon Starcevich was an extremely late omission from the side after suffering an injury in the warm-up, and suddenly the Lions needed an emergency to step in.
