Essendon hero Matt Guelfi keeps promise with special goal celebration in stunning win over GWS Giants

Essendon forward Matt Guelfi has kept his promise to a girl in hospital with an epic goal celebration in the Bombers’ shock win over the GWS Giants. Guelfi was one of the Bombers’ best with three goals as they overcome a slow start to knock off the premiership fancies by 20 points. After kicking his first goal during the third term, Guelfi shook his fingers showing off his flashy red nail polish.

Apart from improving to 7-2-1 and going above the Giants on the ladder, Essendon also made a statement after their round-23 capitulation last year. GWS slaughtered the Bombers at home by 126 points to destroy their finals hopes and deliver a major setback to coach Brad Scott’s regime. Essendon produced their best performance of the season so far to spoil the occasion for Giants legend Callan Ward, who was chaired off the ground after his 300th game.
