A bus driver has been sacked after a young boy was seriously injured when he was dragged down the road with his foot caught in a door. The 12-year-old suffered a fractured back, pelvis and hand after trying to hop on the 600 Transperth bus with friends on Pinjarra Rd in Mandurah, south of Perth. Before he could fully get on the public bus, the door was closed, trapping his foot.
Driver dismissed Public Transport Authority spokesman David Hynes said a driver had been dismissed over the Tuesday, May 14 incident near Mandurah Forum. “A 12-year-old boy had his foot stuck in the door and received injuries after being dragged by the bus,” Hynes said. “The PTA can confirm the driver of the bus has since been sacked by our contractor. “As the matter is under investigation by police, we cannot comment further at this time.
