A mum-of-two has shared her simple yet “genius” cooking oil trick to stop pots from boiling over on the stove. Leanne Neiland, from Queensland, revealed her surprising solution in an Instagram video to make your cooking a breeze.

How to stop pots from boiling over. The nurse, otherwise known as “Home with Leanne” on social media, explained how adding cooking oil to the rim of your pan is the key to preventing water from boiling over. By adding the oil around the inside edge of the rim, the water won’t pass the greasy layer. In the video, the mum shared other kitchen tips, including covering the drain in the sink with foil to “catch pan juices”.
