Ute crashes into car, narrowly misses oncoming truck while ‘dangerously’ overtaking

A teenager has narrowly escaped with his life in a crash on a Tasmanian highway. The 19-year-old driving a utility vehicle allegedly attempted to overtake another vehicle in the wet on the Huon Hwy at Franklin.

The act has been slammed as “dangerous” by Tasmania Police. “A 19-year-old man from Franklin — who is the holder of a P2 licence — is being proceeded against for negligent driving following a crash at Franklin last week that could have had a tragic outcome,” Inspector Colin Riley said.
