Stakeholders, comprising business leaders and industry experts, called on the government on Monday to introduce fiscal policies that stabilise the economy and create an enabling environment for private sector-led economic transformation.
Epia explained the importance of collaboration among stakeholders, adding that sustained efforts have been made since 2016 to promote fiscal transparency and accountability through the Growth Initiatives for Fiscal Transparency project. “Our collective responsibility is to ensure the best outcomes for all citizens of this nation. Furthermore, it is important to note that Section 51 of the Fiscal Responsibility Act empowers every citizen, including private sector individuals, to enforce the provisions of the Act.”
The Chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts, Hon. Bamidele Salami, said that there is a need for government and private sector collaboration to boost the economy.
