President Bola Tinubu has promised to ensure the planting of 25 million trees by 2030 to protect the environment and provide opportunities for Nigeria's youths within the green economy value chain.
The president said the theme of this year, 'Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience', is very significant, particularly for Nigeria, where the scourge of drought threatens parts of the country. The minister made the call at an event to mark the 2024 World Environment Day in Abuja on Wednesday with the theme"Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience."
