Tech giant Apple is expected to roll out the first versions of its highly-anticipated update iOS 18 early next week. At the company’s World Wide Developer Conference it’s thought selected users will be among the first to try what’s being dubbed the biggest upgrade in the history of Apple phones. “I’m told that the new operating system is seen within the company as one of the biggest iOS updates — if not the biggest — in the company’s history,” tech expert Mark Gurman told followers.
It’s also predicted that SMS messaging will be overhauled, and features including sending higher-resolution photos and videos will be part of the new look. According to TechCrunch, iMessages will also get a refreshed look and feel. Generative AI emojis can be created, meaning users can create their own unique emojis by using keyword prompts. With the upcoming update, users will also no longer be constrained by the traditional grid system that aligns app icons without spaces.
