The PGA Tour is reporting progress without any details in its ongoing negotiations with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia. The tour confirms its negotiating committee met with PIF governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan in New York on Friday. It was the first face-to-face meeting with the PIF team since March.

Rory McIlroy, of Northern Ireland, gestures after putting on the 17th green during the first round of the Memorial golf tournament, Thursday, June 6, 2024, in Dublin, Ohio. PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan pauses while speaking about the death of PGA player Grayson Murray during the Charles Schwab Challenge golf tournament at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, Saturday, May 25, 2024.

PGA Tour Enterprises is the commercial group that came out of the framework agreement announced a year ago among the PGA Tour, PIF and the European tour. The tour said the committee and PIF have been meeting “multiple times weekly to work through potential deal terms and come to a shared vision on the future of professional golf.” It said only that “more progress was made” in New York.
