The future of Jacksonville’s downtown is under debate.

Local NewsConcern over past development plans that are taking years to implement is causing some council members to take action now.Last month, the Downtown Investment Authority came under fire and that was very apparent in a special council committee meeting on Monday.At the special committee on the future of downtown meeting on Monday, council members were talking about changes for DIA, especially Councilman Rory Diamond who has been outspoken about the agency.

Diamond says he will be introducing legislation for the city council to consider revamping how DIA works.
