A “problem” crocodile has been removed from a Northern Territory community after it took multiple dogs and lunged at children. NT Police and Department of Environment rangers removed the 3.63m crocodile from the Baines River in Bulla, just 250m from homes, on Tuesday afternoon. It’s believed the croc had moved in following floods earlier in the year.
“In consultation with Traditional Owners, Elders, community members and Parks and Wildlife, the crocodile was shot to ensure that it did not continue to pose a significant risk to the community,” an NT Police spokesperson said. “Crocodiles can pose a significant risk to community safety,” Commander Kylie Anderson said.
