Geelong captain Patrick Dangerfield says club medical staff are plotting the next steps for champion goalkicker Tom Hawkins after a foot injury threatened to cut his decorated AFL career short on Friday night. The scan results for the injured foot of Hawkins are in, but have not been made public yet, as the club assesses the damage and what it means for the veteran’s career.

Tom Hawkins goes down with innocuous foot injury. “We were able to get scans over the weekend, there was a bit of complexity about it so I dare say it is a question for our medicos and really experienced people in that industry and we haven’t got those opinions yet,” Dangerfield said on Monday morning.
