A 19-year-old man has been charged with a terrorism offence after he allegedly showed up at Newcastle Labor MP Tim Crakanthorp’s office wearing “tactical” gear and carrying a knife and neo-Nazi propaganda. Jordan Patten from Raymond Terrace was arrested about 12.30pm on Wednesday after he allegedly distributed a disturbing 200-page manifesto to a number of public figures and media outlets.

Published online, the manifesto revealed Patten had allegedly planned a series of attacks possibly inspired by the Christchurch mass shooter. A seven-minute video filmed before the incident showed Patten wearing a ballistics vest, face mask, gloves and a helmet fitted with a GoPro camera in a public bathroom.
