The debate has descended into a golfing contest. Well, almost. Biden’s mental and physical capabilities became the subject of discussion when one of the moderators asked Biden to respond to some of the top concerns raised about him. When asked how we would be able to perform one of the most difficult jobs in the world well into his 80s, the president responded by reeling off several of his economic achievements before attacking Trump for talking down the United States’ standing in the world.
“I took two tests, cognitive tests. I aced both of them, as you know. We made it public. He took none,” Trump said. “I’d like to see him take one, just one, a real easy one, like go through the first five questions. He couldn’t do it.” Trump went on to say he took physical exams every year and was in “very good health”. And then came the golf one-upmanship. And the fight over golf handicaps. “I just won two club championships – and not even senior ... club championships,” Trump said.
