Paralympics Australia’s chief executive has quit for undisclosed reasons just eight weeks before the start of the Paris Games. Catherine Clark’s resignation comes a day after the official launch of Australia’s Paralympic team at Parliament House in Canberra. Clark has been on leave of absence since early June with the reason not disclosed to staff, a Paralympics Australia spokesperson told AAP.
In a statement issued by PA, Clark, who started the role in February 2022, didn’t detail why she has resigned. “It’s been a tremendous honour to be a part of the Australian Paralympic movement,” Clark said in the statement. “This really is an incredible community. “I am immensely proud of our IMAGINE strategic plan, the progress we have made towards equity and in raising the profile of para-sport. “The stage is well and truly set for Paris. The athletes and their support teams are ready.
