Former The Voice contestant Denise Morgan is calling for more support for carers and investment in grassroots music venues

Blackburn’s Green Party General Election candidate Denise Morgan has made a last ditch plea for votes. The former contestant on The Voice is calling for more support for carers and investment in grassroots music venues.

Voters will go to the polls for the general election from 7am until 10pm on Thursday , with counts happening overnight. Results from Lancashire are expected in the early hours of Friday morning,Ms Morgan said on the eve of polling day: “I believe creative subjects should be viewed as essential components of education and be funded as such. I also want investment in grassroots music venues and musicians in Blackburn.
