The National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control in Yobe State has intensified efforts to clamp down on drug peddlers operating in weekly markets across the state. Yobe State Coordinator of the regulatory agency, Lawan Musa Dadingelma, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen, stating that the operation was part of the agency's ongoing campaign to curb the illicit distribution and sales of unauthorized pharmaceuticals across the 17 LGAs of the state.

The anti-narcotic agency, in partnership with Yobe State University, Damaturu, organized a sensitization seminar to commemorate the 2024 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, themed 'The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention.'
