Liberal candidate for Wentworth Dave Sharma says his party is committed to providing the best childcare for Australians but says ‘I don’t think we should be out there trying to match Labor in its spendathon’.

Labor has this week drawn criticism for announcing a $4 billion childcare plan but not revealing how it will fund the social initiative.

Mr Sharma questioned the funding pledge, telling Sky News ‘Labor just keeps announcing more money for everything but doesn't address where they’re getting the money from, what’s going to happen to people’s taxes, or how the economy’s going to stomach this significant burden’.

DaveSharma As a person who needs childcare, and a Wentworth resident this is wrong.

Why would you give money to working people when they don’t even fund your election campaign? 🤷‍♀️

$185 million on Christmas Island open and close. For what? PR stunt.

Well Dave, the Coalition has outspent Labor in this campaign. Bet you think warships OK spending seeing it's your side?

If you stopped funding inheritances for the adult children of wealthy retirees and ditched high end tax cuts you could.....

Dave Sharna where is you’re LP logo .Has Alex Turnbull told everyone you’re not fit to be elected. Noticed where is Morrison .The People Of Wentworth will never vote for a LP member .Turnbull was outed by Morrison .So they will vote in again Dr Phelps.

Prefers money going offshore to The Caymans

Very opinionated for a guy with no record.

That's always been labor's policy spend now never pay it back.and rack up massive debt.

This is the extent of desperate idiocy afflicting the Liberals

Ah the ‘modern liberal’ which is a bit like saying ‘clean coal’ neither exists in the real world.

slimtilley For goodness sake never fight the elections on Labor policies as the failure Malcolm Turnbull did. Promote your own! Provide the alternatives.DaveSharma ScottMorrisonMP

Sky how do you know Sharma is a Liberal party member? He is one of many that is ashamed of the Liberal name & has no mention of it on his billboards etc... Liberal name must be toxic when your members don't use it!

LiberalParty one step away from sending the kiddies back down the coal mines twobirdsonestone ? auspol ausvotes

No trickle down for pre schoolers Dave...too busy opening the floodgates up up up to the very top!

I love Labor. I can have everything i want for free and some other grub has to pick up the tab. Next three years are gonna be awesome!

to provide a good service you need to protect the climate so kids can have a future climatechange ClimateStrike stopadani StopAdani TheProjectTV

How many of these big Labor promises will be rolled back or delayed for years once in power? Childcare Centre Owners will increase fees to cash in, there is no way Labor can stop this happening unless Bill wants to be like Kim Jong-un North Korea and rule by fear.

Don't trust Dave Sharma and the Liberals with your money! They will funnel it to the ultra-wealthy and major multinational corporations before they would ever spend it on vital services.

So labor make a good policy and then the lnp try to copy it and then say they're not trying to match it.

More into backing coal fired power. Private foundations. Franking Credit giveaways. Corrupt water payouts. Serco.Paladin. Helloworld. Big 4.

They can afford to be, purely by stopping the hundreds of billions of waste that you and your [party of economic vandals have been pi$$ing away for years' Its REALLOCATION of funding

Why do we leave it up to parties to decide on policy? Let the Government govern, and let us, the people of Australia, tell them how. Flux system- Elect Flux Senators. Every Bill is entered into free Flux app. You vote yes/no. Flux Senators vote as per app votes. UpgradeDemocracy

Don’t worry Bill will get it from Grandmas backyard!

Good the child care workers are only glorified baby sitters

Really? Why not?

So no costings from the Liberals

So whats the policy?

He's absolutely right. Labor can't even articulate the cost to the economy of their own promises let alone be honest about who is paying for them. auspol
