President Donald Trump, who has called himself"Tariff Man," took investors by surprise when he escalated a trade war with China in announcing steep new tariffs on Chinese goods.

....of additional goods sent to us by China remain untaxed, but will be shortly, at a rate of 25%. The Tariffs paid to the USA have had little impact on product cost, mostly borne by China. The Trade Deal with China continues, but too slowly, as they attempt to renegotiate. No! Previously scheduled trade negotiations with China were still on track to happen in Washington this week. China's Commerce Ministry confirmed that Chinese Vice Premier Liu He, China's top negotiator, will join a delegation for continued negotiations on Thursday and Friday in Washington. Initially, a 100-person team from China was expected to travel to the nation's capital on Wednesday, but the Chinese were shaken by Trump's tweets and the talks were delayed by a day.

"A sudden tariff increase -- with less than a week's notice -- would severely disrupt U.S. businesses, especially small companies that have limited resources to mitigate the impact. If the administration follows through on this threat, American consumers will face higher prices and U.S. jobs will be lost," said the National Retail Federation's David French.

There’s bipartisan support for his stance towards China. So, you can’t demagogue it.

This jackass is out to start a war he thinks that'll be exciting !!he's out to destroy this country and all who let him remain in w.h.are as much to blame as he is !!

The one thing Trump is doing right is tariffs on China. Corporations worried they will not be able to get cheap labor overseas anymore. Wall Street will never crash. The government will just bail them out like they did the last time.

Trump is trying to change the subject, there is huge scrutiny of his business history and sudden leap back into fortune.

《Tariff Man the movie》 🤖<I'll be back…

Here goes jackass on yet another power trip !!!!

Does realDonaldTrump care how these tariffs will affect American companies, particularly small manufacturing companies? Doubtful!

Shouldn’t surprise anyone. As the legal noose slowly tightens around him he will act more and more erratically. Simply an effort to distract and distort thoughts anyone with any sense can follow multiple matters simultaneously.

Love his unpredictable style. Always America first. Long overdue

Yeah and we are kicking China’s asses for the first time in decades!!! running neck and neck with cnnbrk for garbage propaganda!!! Keep selling out America !!!

This type of bull makes my job HELL

Trump knows his base can’t invest in markets They live paycheque to paycheque and can’t afford to save

Is overdue for trade between the USA and China to be fair. Common sense. Our trade deficit with China has enabled them to rival our economy and build militarized islands in the South China Sea.

Thanks, Obama! /dumb ****.

Con man Don!!

We don't need this

Didn't we fight a war with England back in the 1700's to rid ourselves of tyrannical king who handed out taxes and tariffs like they were candy MadKingTrump

There ought to be a sign on his back 'Radioactive Waste'

Bet the nytimes article is making them feel much better tho

SPYGATE

He had announced them a long time ago & gave China time to negotiate a deal. China didn't deliver so now they have a reason to come to the table

Buy some securities, folks. The markets will be back up by the end of the week.

NYT just show what a lossy business man he is. We are so screw on this trade war

China has been in a trade war with us for 30 years. President Trump is the first President to fight back. Best economy in 50 Years If not now, when?

Trump isn't smart enough on his own to cash in but I wonder how many of his buddies like Ross, Mnuchin the Munchkin, and the rest of the greedy f**ks that has surrounded himself with sold short based on his tweets.

And the market dropped almost 600 points as a result

Which should pretty much lock in the farmer vote for him in 2020 If he is eligible to run in 2020
