How DSTV is killing Nigeria’s economy – Northern youths

The Northern Youth Economic Growth Group has frowned at what it described as the continuous insensitivity of satellite TV providers, DSTV.

The group expressed this in a statement jointly signed by its National President, Comrade Ibrahim Adamu and its National Secretary, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, made available to DAILY POST in Kaduna on Thursday, June 6, 2019. “The charges besides being exorbitant on monthly basis, puts a burden on our foreign exchange as the South African based company has not been able to come out clear with what it does with the billions it makes from the country monthly,” they said.

The group said that they are not against the company but are worried that only a few Nigerians are employed by the firm with the North not benefitting from such, in spite of the huge profit they make in the country and the North.

Another group that is in this colonial theft are religious houses getting so much from the people and doing next to nothing tangible for social reinvestment into their immediate environment

This problem has been with every multinational company in Nigeria : Oil companies and other service providers they make a lot of money and has no simple 20% social reinvestment impact as practiced in other countries and supposed to be required by law.

Bring substitute for Nigerian

Rubbish how can that be?

I told someone, he will in no time tune permanently to fulani radio, he was fuming Gradually this will come to pass

That show a great challenge toward the company which is not in our country but exploring our people without any tangible benefit toward the development of our economy, I support dat challenges some thing must be done.

Or even like organize shows for fun seekers or sponsor show's like mbgn or bigbrothernaija or help us make good high-tech Nollywood movies or even help us train our entertainmentpreneurs take dem abroad 4 training cld all dis be bcos we 2 currupt or is our govt overtaxing Dem?

Well for once after reading this I totally agree with the north DStv or multi choice do not even have a single football academy in Nigeria or a tournament they don't even sponsor as small as a school project or do community projects like viewing centers and learning centers

You have bandits killing your people on a daily basis but this is what you're worried about? Priorities!🤦🏽‍♂️

We ve beginning to share our problem with DSTV again, they are not the problem they did not force anyone to subscribe. Leave DSTV out of this.. let's take responsibility.

No one is forced to install or subscribe to dstv. Startimes or CTL are there for one to chose. Just like cars or even mobile phones. You go for what you can afford. The problem of this country isn't dstv but Buhari, Boko haram and Buhari again. Three problems!

I hope 8th national assembly will work on it . 8th assembly fail on this

Stupid Nigerian Youths😠
