Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers president Tan Sri Soh Thian Lai said the government had crafted a “positive people’s budget” that addressed problems and challenges across all sectors of society.
Soh also lauded the government for its plan to strengthen the local workforce with an allocation of RM6.5bil to create 350,000 jobs for Malaysians and to reduce dependence on foreign workers. Its president Tan Sri Goh Tian Chuan said the allocation for Chinese independent high schools had been raised to RM15mil, from RM12mil previously.
He added that the government had also increased allocations for Sabah and Sarawak by 100%, paying more attention to the people’s interests.
