Chief Market Strategist at InvestSMART Evan Lucas says China and the US agreeing to roll back tariffs “needs to happen from an Australian centric point of view”.

The US and China agreed to remove some tariffs on each other's goods as part of the first phase of a trade deal, according to officials from both sides.

“If we can see that the Chinese say yes and so do the Americans then Asian-led recovery markets will happen and therefore we will get rolled up in that and that’s a very positive way to finish the year,” Mr Lucas told Sky News. Image: Getty
