PETALING JAYA: Former finance minister Lim Guan Eng says he was temporarily barred from entering Sabah when he flew to Kota Kinabalu on Tuesday night (Sept 1).

says he was temporarily barred from entering Sabah when he flew to Kota Kinabalu on Tuesday night .

Lim, who is facing three charges of corruption and abuse of power over the controversial Penang undersea tunnel project, said he was approached by state Immigration officers when he landed at the Kota Kinabalu Airport."They claimed that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission had imposed a travelling restriction on me from entering Sabah.

"What is this? Isn't this under the power of the Sabah state government?" he said in a Facebook post on Wednesday .“Is this another case of double standards when this is under the purview of the state and not the Federal Government? Is this another attempt by the Federal to interfere with the state?" he added."It is all right. I will ask Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal. Was he the one who did not want me to come to Sabah?" he said.

When charged in court in August, Lim pleaded not guilty to using his position as chief minister of Penang to solicit a RM3.3mil bribe related to the RM6.3bil Penang undersea tunnel project.
