Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin says 1MDB’s debts was less than 4% of the total debts and liabilities of the federal government.
He said although the government had cut allowances and scholarship allocations on the excuse that it did not have money, it was working on a third national car project even though this was a “sunset industry”. He said when other countries were looking into artificial intelligence and the internet of things, Malaysia was looking at car manufacturing.
“It is a government that cannot manage the country and because of that, we won in the Cameron Highlands and Semenyih by-elections. Coming Rantau by-election, they will lose,” he said when debating the 2018 Supplementary Budget at the Dewan Rakyat.
The damage done is done. But mastermind is not convicted yet. And the money involved is huge. Are you saying it is not impactful financially and should be silenced altogether by the government elected by the people? The people felt the pain of financial burden and it is relevant.
