A truck remains trapped after he crashed into a house in Bexley, in Sydney’s south, on Tuesday, about 6.30am. Early reports suggest the truck driver suffered a “medical episode” before losing control of the truck, swerving into the home — which is being used as a shopfront. Two people inside the house were evacuated. Emergency crews, including firefighters, are now on the scene at the intersection of Mimosa St and Forest Rd, with the house suffering significant damage.
7News reporter Angel Opie, crossed to Matt Shirvington on Sunrise, explaining in the incident. “There are major structural issues at the property, with part of the roof collapsing, bricks coming loose, and falling on the windscreen of the truck,” Opie said. “We understand that the male driver is still trapped. Dozens of emergency crews have been working for more than an hour to flee him. “The extent of his injuries are not yet known, but it is remarkable that he is conscious and breathing.
