.billshortenmp: Today I make it very clear that the Labor Party chooses to look after the childcare costs of a million Australian households rather than unsustainable tax loopholes at the top end of town. MORE: newsday

Liberal candidate for Wentworth Dave Sharma says his party is committed to providing the best childcare for Australians but says ‘I don’t think we should be out there trying to match Labor in its spendathon’. Labor has this week drawn criticism for announcing a $4 billion childcare plan but not revealing how it will fund the social initiative.

Mr Sharma questioned the funding pledge, telling Sky News ‘Labor just keeps announcing more money for everything but doesn't address where they’re getting the money from, what’s going to happen to people’s taxes, or how the economy’s going to stomach this significant burden’.

Labor will crack down on exploitation of foreign workers: Chalmers | Sky News AustraliaShadow Finance Minister Jim Chalmers says he wants to crack down on the exploitation of foreign workers. \n\nMr Chalmers has told Sky News the Labor Party wants to bring the temporary worker threshold up to about $65,000 so there’s no financial incentive to hire foreign workers over locals. \n\nHe says ‘we shouldn’t be using foreign workers when there are local workers available’ because 'it's good for the economy and good for local businesses'. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Remember Shorten has the highest number of approved visa 457 on record when Labor was last in government. Allowing businesses/companies (often fully foreign owned) to bring in unnecessary foreign workers so they can under cut legitimate Australian business doing the right thing is criminal... Don’t bring them in, then they can’t be exploited. How about cracking down on MP
